HOW DOES THE SWIPE & SAVE DINING PLAN WORK? 

Swipe & Save Plans are operated on a declining balance system where funds are added to your Swipe & Save card. Every time you make a purchase from a Chartwells food outlet the amount is subtracted from your balance. You can purchase your plan online or at the Chartwells office.

WHAT ARE SWIPE & SAVE DOLLARS AND DINING DOLLARS? 

Swipe & Save Dollars and Dining Dollars = the money that is loaded on your Swipe & Save card that can be used to purchase food and beverage items at Chartwells retail locations. 

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SWIPE & SAVE DOLLARS AND DINING DOLLARS?

Swipe & Save Dollars are taxable dollars and Swipe & Save Dining Dollars are tax exempt dollars. 

DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE A DINING PLAN?

If you live in the dorm-style accommodations at La Résidence, Kīšik Towers, Paskwāw Tower and Wakpá Tower, you are required to purchase a mandatory Resident Swipe & Save Dining Plan. Dorm-style accommodations do not have any cooking facilities.

Students living in two-bedroom apartments with a kitchenette (no stove) in Kīšik Towers or in studio apartments in Paskwāw and Wakpá Towers are required to purchase the Resident Partial Swipe & Save Dining Plan for the Fall and Winter semesters.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT PLAN IS BEST FOR ME?

We provide lots of options to accommodate various life-styles and needs. The dining plans are available in a variety of sizes, depending on your lifestyle, your appetite and your accommodation type.

The Commuter Swipe & Save Reloadable card allows you to load an amount that makes the most sense for your dining needs and budget. Start low and add as you go or load with an annual budget in mind. Just a coffee drinker with a few snacks here and there, consider loading $300 a semester. Looking for a few meals and coffee breaks a week, start with $500 - there is no risk as the funds don’t expire.

WHEN DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE A DINING PLAN?

Resident Swipe & Save Dining Plans must be purchased in full at the beginning of the Fall semester. The pricing listed on the Residence Plans page includes both the Fall and Winter semesters. If you are only living in residence during the winter semester or if you are an exchange student studying here for just one semester, please contact Cheryl Fisher at (306) 585-4660 or email for alternative one semester only prices.

WHAT IF I DECIDE TO PURCHASE A SWIPE & SAVE RELOADABLE PLAN HALF WAY THROUGH THE SEMESTER?

Swipe & Save dollars purchased on a Reloadable plan don't expire so they can be purchased or topped up at any time of the year.

WHERE CAN I BUY MY DINING PLAN?

Resident Swipe & Save Dining Plans will be available from Residence Services.  Please go here for more information.

Commuter Swipe & Save Plans can be purchased online here or at the Food Service Office during regular business hours with a cheque, debit card, credit card, money order or cash.

Please note that we do not accept Canadian-Issued Visa Debit Cards and we cannot access your University student account.

The cards are re-loadable too! Order online and pick up your card at the Chartwells Office or go green and bring along your original card and we will reload it. Please check with the Food Service Office for further details.

WHERE CAN I USE MY DINING PLAN?

Plans can be used at all University of Regina Chartwells locations. Please see map.

CAN I CARRY MY DINING PLAN FORWARD PER YEAR OR TERM?

All Swipe & Save dining plans can be carried forward from year to year. Residential dining plans expire at the end of the school year (April 2017) but can be converted into Swipe & Save Dollars that don't expire. Please check with our Food Service Office for complete details.

IS MY DINING PLAN REFUNDABLE?

Resident Swipe & Save Dining Plans are only refundable if you withdraw from residence or from the University. A $50 administration fee will apply. Some exceptions do apply. Please check with our Food Service Office.

Commuter Swipe & Save dining plans are not refundable.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CARD IS LOST OR STOLEN?

The security of a card remains the card holder's responsibility. Cards should be treated like a credit or debit card. Report your lost or stolen card in person at the Food Services Office, Room 148, College West Building, or by telephone (306) 585-4660 so the missing card can be deactivated and a new one issued. If a card is lost or stolen the cardholder is responsible for all charges made to that card until the card is reported lost or stolen. There is a $10 administration fee if you have to get your card replaced.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I FORGET MY CARD?

Your activated student meal plan card is the key to the whole dining plan system. If you forget it you will have to pay using other acceptable methods of payment - cash, debit or credit card.

CAN I LEND MY CARD TO A FRIEND OR PURCHASE A MEAL FOR A FRIEND?

The Commuter Reloadable Swipe & Save plan and the Partial plan are declining balance cards so if you would like to use a swipe on a friend we would welcome the opportunity to serve them. 

The Resident Ultimate, Standard and Lighter Side plans are tax exempt therefore can only be used by the subscriber.
