I DON'T LIVE IN RESIDENCE, CAN I EAT AT HARRISS DINING HALL?

Yes! Everyone is welcome to dine at Harriss Dining Hall. Pay at the door or purchase a Swipe & Save Dining Plan.

Prices coming soon for the 2016 - 2017 school year.

WHAT ARE SWIPE & SAVE DOLLARS VS. DINING DOLLARS?

Swipe & Save Dollars are dollars located on your plan if you purchase a select Swipe & Save Dining Plan. These dollars are taxable at Chartwells food service locations. Swipe & Save Dollars do not expire.

Dining Dollars are tax exempt dollars included in select dining plans. No tax is charged on food and beverage purchases. Dining Dollars expire when the plan expires.

WHERE CAN I BUY MY SWIPE & SAVE PLAN?

CAN I CARRY MY DINING PLAN FORWARD PER YEAR OR TERM?

Plans can be carried over from December to January but expire at the end of the school year in April 2017. 

Swipe & Save Dollars only expiry when you are no longer a student at Cape Breton University.

IS MY MEAL PLAN REFUNDABLE?

Residential dining plans are pro-rated to the date the student withdraws from residence.

Swipe & Save Plans are refundable. Any bonus dollars, complimentary incentives and guest passes are not refundable.

CAN I TAKE FOOD OUT OF THE DINING HALL?

Sorry, you are not allowed to take food out of Harriss Dining Hall. These plans are for food that is consumed in the dining room only.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CARD IS LOST OR STOLEN?

Report your lost or stolen card to the Chartwells Office at Harriss Hall or the retail cafeteria so the missing card can be deactivated and a new one issued.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I FORGET MY CARD?

Your activated student card is the key to the whole dining plan system. If you forget it you will have to pay cash to gain access to the dining hall.

The security of a card remains the cardholder’s responsibility. Cards should be treated like a credit or debit card. If a card is lost or stolen the cardholder is responsible for all charges made to that card until the card is reported lost or stolen. A card can be reported lost or stolen at any cash register on campus, at the Chartwells Office, or online.

CAN I LEND MY CARD TO A FRIEND OR PURCHASE A MEAL FOR A FRIEND?

Some plans are flexible so if you would like to invite a friend to dine with you we would welcome the opportunity to serve them. Ask one of our managers for details.

CAN I USE MY DINING PLAN AT OTHER UNIVERSITIES?

Yes! If you are visiting a university where Chartwells is the food service provider use your dining plan to save money on your trip. This unique offer is only available if you inform our Food Service Director in advance so arrangements can be made.
